Премʼєр-міністр Португалії Антоніу Кошта подав у відставку після того, як його запідозрили в корупції. Виявилося, що його сплутали з міністром економіки — Антоніу Коштою Сілвою. Про це пише Euronews.

Португальська прокуратура неправильно розшифрувала записи прослуховування, які вказують на причетність премʼєр-міністра до корупційного скандалу. 

Оголошуючи про свою відставку, Кошта заявляв, що не винний, але «гідність обовʼязків премʼєр-міністра несумісна з підозрою в будь-якому кримінальному діянні».

За кілька днів президент Португалії Марсел Ребел де Соза оголосив про розпуск парламенту. Нові вибори запланували на 10 березня.

Розслідування стосується угоди, яка дозволила компанії Lusorecurso розробку літієвої шахти в Монталегре. Є підозри, що Антоніу Кошта (як виявилося, той, що міністр економіки, а не премʼєр) втручався у цей процес. Керівника кабінету премʼєр-міністра Віктора Ескарію та бізнесмена Діого Ласерду Мачадо, близького до премʼєра, уже затримали.
