Управління з рекламних стандартів (ASA) назвало бренд одягу Mango «безвідповідальним» через рекламне зображення з «нездорово худою» моделлю. 

На зображенні, про яке йде мова, модель стояла з опущеними в боки руками. Скаржник вважав, що дівчина виглядає нездорово худою, і заявив, що реклама була «безвідповідальною», оскільки містила таке зображення. 

ASA задовольнив скаргу, вказавши, що верхня частина тіла і стегна моделі виглядали дуже вузькими, з проміжками між руками і тілом, які підкреслювали її струнку фігуру.

Компанія Mango не відповіла на запити ASA, що змусило регулятора висловити занепокоєння відсутністю реакції з боку ритейлера та очевидним ігноруванням Кодексу Великобританії щодо реклами.

Регулятор заявив, що реклама не повинна з’являтися в її нинішньому вигляді, і попросив Mango забезпечити відповідальний підхід до переліку продуктів, з метою використання зображень, які не демонструють нездорову худорлявість.

Згідно з правилами ASA, бренди не повинні розміщувати зображення, на яких моделі виглядають так, ніби мають нездорову вагу тіла.
