Цукерберг настільки захопився якістю таргетованої реклами, що його алгоритми почали стежити за самооцінкою користувачів, щоб підкидати «цільову» рекламу. Наприклад, якщо дівчинка-підліток видаляла фото – їй показували рекламу косметики, б'юті-процедур і так далі. Також активно стежили за найвразливішими групами – підлітками, мамами у декреті, афроамериканцями.

Колишня співробітниця Facebook Сара Вінн-Уїльямс написала цілу книгу про брудні вчинки компанії. Книгу вже зняли з продажу – тут постарались юристи Meta.
