Перемога Трампа на виборах це, окрім всього, ще й катастрофічна поразка сучасної американської соціології, яка досьогодні вважалася майже бездоганною. Майже всі прогнози (за винятком Манафорта, який відійшов у "тінь" на останній стадії кампанії) категорично дарували перемогу Клінтон...

Вони там, звісно, самі будуть це все аналізувати, але одна з причин, як на мене, полягає в тому, що американська соціологія активно реагувала на так звану "громадську думку". А громадська думка нині - це далеко не "глас народа". Громадська думка у сучасному вигляді являє собою актив певної маси людей, які: носять майки і бейсболки з певними заангажованими написами, постять в соцмережах, беруть участь в акціях та мітингах, ходять на ефіри, аналізують і тд.. Це ті, що наче б то формують громадську думку... Вони на виду, вони показують і демонструють себе. То ж і складається хибне враження, що це цілий народ...

Але окрім них є електорат відлюдьків. Я б назвав його "електоратом О’Генрі"... Є мільйони і мільйони людей, які, плювати хотіли на цих "формувачів"... Дальнобойщики з Техасу, латентні расисти з Флоріди, скриті гендерні шовіністи Північної Кароліни, мізантропи Аляски...

Ці "локальні групи" нині формуються в броунівські "общності"... І це говорить про те, що традиційна політична соціологія нині загинула...

Можна стільки завгодно розводитися про втомленість США від демократів (16-ть років все ж таки)... Але головне не в цьому. Ми на порозі якоїсь нової прогнозованості "горизонту політичних подій". Вірніше, на порозі абсолютної непрогнозованості чого б там не було...
