Серед 30 найкращих фото, які відібрані у фінал конкурсу сестринського проекту Вікіпедії - Вікісховищі, є і два зображення з України.

Кожного року у Вікісховищі проходить конкурс із вибору зображення року. У ньому беруть участь найкращі фото, які протягом року отримали від вікімедійної спільноти відзнаку "Вибране зображення",пише Українська правда

Ця відзнака надається зображенням за результатами їх оцінювання спільнотою волонтерів Вікісховища з усього світу, які перевіряють зображення на відповідність найвищим стандартам якості. Ці фото доступні під вільними ліцензіями, тобто можуть бути безкоштовно використані будь-ким за умови зазначення авторства та дотримання ліцензійних умов.

Торік найкращим зображенням року було визнано фото Штефана Краузе, який сфотографував горіння вольфрамової нитки в лампі розжарення з тріснутою колбою.

До трійки лідерів увійшли також фото національного парку "Святі Гори" на Донеччині (Україна) та світлина польоту ластівки над басейном.

До фіналу конкурсу "Зображення року-2014" вийшли 30 зображень — від фотографій до схем та анімацій, від інтер’єрів будівель до фотографій флори і фауни.

Серед обраних спільнотою фото до фіналу вийшли і два фото з України.

Одне з зображень, що вийшли до фіналу — це вид з Говерли на Карпатський національний парк (Івано-Франківська область) роботи Дмитра Балховітіна.Це фото було завантажено в рамках конкурсу "Вікі любить Землю" та було відзначене журі як найкраще фото у міжнародній частині конкурсу.

Інший фіналіст з України — фото замку "Ластівчине гніздо" поблизу селища Гаспра (Автономна Республіка Крим) роботи Олександра Савіна.

Проголосувати за найкраще зображення року може будь-який користувач, який зробив понад 75 редагувань у вікіпроектах до 1 січня 2015 року.

Голосування триває до 28 лютого на відповідній сторінці Вікісховища.
