ФБР і Держдепартамент США оголосили винагороду в обсязі до $3 млн. за інформацію, яка може допомогти арештувати російського кіберзлочинця Євгена Богачова.

Його звинувачують у зламах комп’ютерів, зокрема, за допомогою шкідливої програми Game Over Zeus,повідомляє Media Sapiens

Оприлюднене оголошення про розшук містить серію знімків та дані про 31-річного хакера та його псевдоніми.

Програма Game Over Zeus заразила вірусом понад 1 млн. комп’ютерів та обійшлася жертвам у понад $100 млн.

У червні минулого року, Федеральна прокуратура США оголосила Богачову звинувачення. Відомство заявило, що він «очолює банду кіберзлочинців у Росії та Україні, яка веде Game Over Zeus.

Цей ботнет складається з мережі заражених вірусом комп'ютерів, які тримають на прицілі власників дрібних грошових переказів. Програмне забезпечення Cryptolocker шифрує файли на їхніх комп’ютерах і блокує їх. Мета кіберзлочинців – методом шантажу вилучити платежі.

Із 2013 року кібербанда Богачова використовувала Cryptolocker у хакерських атаках проти близько 200 тис. комп'ютерів.

Половина з них належала американським користувачам.

Лише протягом перших двох місяців, як заявив заступник генерального прокурора США Джеймс Коул (James Cole), зловмисники позбавили своїх жертв приблизно $27 млн.

Показово, що кіберзлочинець, якого буквально декілька днів тому бачили у фешенебельному будинку в Анапі, викликає захоплення у росіян. Вони називають його «талановитим чуваком», а поліцейський на запитання «чи арештують хакера?» відповів: «Я повісив би хлопцеві медаль». У Росії його з повагою називають Євген Михайлович Богачов.
