Уперше понад 1 мільярд людей скористалися соціальною мережею Facebook впродовж одного дня, заявив засновник компанії Марк Цукерберг.

За його словами, рекордної позначки соцмережа досягла у цей понеділок, коли "кожен сьомий житель Землі використав Facebook для зв'язку із друзями й родиною".

"Ми уперше досягли цієї віхи, і це лише початок з'єднання усього світу", - написав пан Цукерберг.

Мільярдний користувач зареєструвався у Facebook у 2012 році. Нині у соцмережі загалом зареєстровано понад 1,5 мільярда користувачів, що заходять у неї щонайменше раз на місяць.

У липні керівництво компанії заявило, що понад половина світових користувачів інтернету відвідали Facebook принаймні один раз за місяць.
