Папа Римський Франциск вважає, що будь-яка людина, яка хоче звести мур на американсько-мексиканському кордоні, не є християнином. Про це понтифік заявив у четвер, 18 лютого, коли його попросили прокоментувати антиіммігрантські висловлювання Дональда Трампа, який намагається стати кандидатом у президенти США від Республіканської партії, повідомляє DW.COM.

Раніше Трамп пообіцяв звести мур на всій протяжності кордону між Мексикою та США та вислати з країни 11 мільйонів нелегальних мігрантів, якщо стане президентом Сполучених Штатів. "Людина, яка думає тільки про зведення мурів, де б вони не були, а не про будівництво мостів, не є християнином", - сказав Франциск, який того ж дня молився на американсько-мексиканському кордоні за тих мігрантів, які загинули, намагаючись потрапити на територію США.

 

Дональд Трамп не забарився з відповіддю Папі. Виступаючи у Південній Кароліні, республіканець заявив, що "якби та коли Ватикан атакували би бойовики "Ісламської держави"… Папа захотів би та молився би, щоб Дональд Трамп був президентом".

Нагадаємо, 9 лютого Трамп здобув перемогу на праймеріз у штаті Нью-Гемпшир. Улітку демократи і республіканці офіційно оголосять своїх кандидатів на посаду президента країни. Вибори заплановані на 8 листопада цього року.
