"Яндекс.Медиана" поможет проследить за тем, что пишут об интересующих вас людях и объектах, оценить тональность и значимость публикаций», — говорится в описании сервиса. В качестве примера компания приводит рейтинг спортсменов, которые собрали больше всего публикаций и просмотров статей о них.
 
В «Медиане» используются знания и технологии «Яндекса»: мировой индекс, лингвистические технологии, объектный ответ, машинный интеллект. Сервис индексирует публикации на сайтах СМИ и автоматически выделяет интересующие объекты в текстах. Машинный интеллект, обученный на размеченных вручную текстах, определяет характер упоминания объекта в публикации (тональность, роль — главная или второстепенная, наличие в заголовке и присутствие комментария от объекта). Для оценки заметности каждого упоминания учитывается не общая посещаемость сайта, а данные о числе прочтений конкретных публикаций.

Все эти характеристики учитываются в едином рейтинге, который помогает сравнить качество освещения событий и персон в инфополе. Данные можно увидеть, отфильтровать и проанализировать в едином интерфейсе с понятными графиками.

— «Яндекс»Сейчас «Яндекс.Медиана» изучает публикации 6,5 тысяч изданий, агентств и сайтов. Позже компания планирует добавить в список источников соцсети, а затем — «весь интернет».

Сервис работает в режиме закрытого бета-тестирования, «Яндекс» собирает заявки от потенциальных пользователей. В частности, компания просит указать интересующие пользователя объекты — например, свою компанию или конкурентов.

Официальный запуск «Яндекс.Медианы» намечен на 2017 год. Пользователи смогут приобрести подписку на различные пакеты услуг — в зависимости от количества упоминаний, обрабатываемых для отчета.

«Например, в случае с компаниями, сравнимыми по упоминаемости с "Яндексом" (порядка 30 объектов, сервисов "Яндекса" и конкурентов, и все 6500 источников), стоимость составит 80 тысяч рублей в месяц. Первым клиентам мы будем предоставлять тестовый период, по окончании которого будем договариваться о цене в индивидуальном порядке», — добавили в «Яндексе».
