Один з українських учасників гуманітарної підгрупи на переговорах у Мінську Віктор Медведчук у четвер перебував на засіданні міжнародного дискусійного клубу "Валдай" в Сочі, де слухав виступ президента РФ Володимира Путіна.

Медведчук сидів у першому ряду поруч із прес-секретарем Путіна Дмитром Пєсковим, пише Українська правда

Виступ Путіна було присвячено критиці "західних партнерів", США і НАТО. Також він категорично спростував звинувачення в спробах Росії вплинути на вибори американського президента.

"Невже хтось всерйоз думає, що Росія може якось вплинути на вибір американського народу? Америка що, це якась бананова країна чи що? Америка – це велика держава! Якщо я не правий, поправте мене будь ласка", – сказав Путін, чим викликав сміх у Медведчука і Пєскова.

Як відомо, Медведчук є кумом Путіна. Також він неодноразово виправдовував політику російського президента і стверджував, що вона спрямована на встановлення миру.
