Основатель и глава Facebook Марк Цукерберг отверг обвинения в том, что фейковые новости, распространявшиеся в этой социальной сети, обеспечили победу Дональда Трампа на выборах президента США.

 

"Мысль о том, что фейковые новости на Facebook - а это очень небольшой объем контента - каким-либо образом повлияли на выборы, - весьма безумная идея", - цитирует агентство AFP выступление Цукерберга в четверг, 10 ноября, на конференции по вопросам тенденций развития технологий в Калифорнии.

"Избиратели принимают решения, основываясь на жизненном опыте"

Создатель Facebook задал риторический вопрос, почему считается, что фальсифицируются сообщения об одном кандидате, но не о другом. Он также отверг опасения по поводу того, что пользователи соцсети видят только те публикации, которые соответствуют их взглядам. "Избиратели принимают решения, основанные на их жизненном опыте", - подчеркнул Цукерберг.

По его словам, он видит "глубокое отсутствие эмпатии" в утверждениях, что кто-то проголосовал определенным образом потому, что читал фейковые новости. "Если вы в это верите, то я не думаю, что вы усвоили тот месседж, который сторонники Трампа пытались донести на этих выборах", - заявил Цукерберг.

После победы Дональда Трампа на президентских выборах в США, прошедших 8 ноября, в адрес Facebook выдвигались упреки в частности в том, что компания отказалась от ответственности за то, чтобы пресекать публикации вымышленных новостей.
