Активісти правозахисного проекту GayRussia і організатори ЛГБТ-акцій на Кавказі подали позов про захист репутації проти «Новой газеты».
 

Позов був поданий до Басманного суду Москви, повідомляє «Радіо Свобода» з посиланням на TJ. Активісти вимагають спростувати твердження про те, що переслідування геїв спричинила спроба GayRussia провести масові акції в Чечні. Також позивачі хочуть отримати компенсацію за моральну шкоду в розмірі одного мільйона російських рублів (близько 479 550 грн - MS), щоб потім передати ці гроші на благодійність в Чечні. Організація GayRussia також хоче отримати вибачення від газети. Очільник організації Микола Алексєєв підтвердив інформацію на своїй сторінці в Facebook.

Водночас офіційний представник «Новой газеты» Надія Прусенкова раніше назвала заяви активістів GayRussia про судовий позов спробою зняти з себе відповідальність, повідомляє РБК.

Нагадаємо, «Новая газета» на початку квітня написала про масові затримання і катування жителів Чечні, підозрюваних в належності до ЛГБТ спільноти. Після цього редакція газети повідомила про відкриті погрози та висловила занепокоєння щодо безпеки власних співробітників.

Російські письменники та журналісти виступили на захист «Новой газеты» та підписали заяву про солідарність з журналістами.
