Про це повідомило видання «Секрет фирмы» з посиланням на заступника керівника Федеральної служби з виконання покарань по Санкт-Петербургу Петра Яковлєва.

У Росії тюремні наглядачі випустили календар про різновиди страти під назвою «Вища міра соціальної справедливості».

Кожен місяць цього календаря проілюстрований різними видами смертної кари. Зокрема, на малюнках зображене розп'яття, побиття камінням, гільйотина тощо. Крім того, на сторінках є інформація про методи здійснення цієї страти, місця, де вона найчастіше застосовувалася, а також відомості та історії, пов'язані з цим видом покарання

Так на одній зі сторінок календаря наводиться приклад із Біблії про відтинання голови Іоану Богослову. Цей метод тюремники назвали «стратою християнських мучеників епохи великих гонінь».

Також календар супроводжують жарти про страту, такі як: «Кращий засіб від лупи – гільйотина», «У свободи багаті традиції, а починалося все з розп'ять», «Смертна кара була б набагато ефективнішим засобом боротьби зі злочинністю, якщо б вона застосовувалася до злочину» та інші.
