Американский телеведущий Джеймс Корден (James Corden) в эфире своего вечернего шоу рассказал о том, что отправил президенту США Дональду Трампу 297 копий фильма «Филадельфия» — драматической истории борьбы больного СПИДом гея, которого сыграл Том Хэнкс, с обществом. Фрагмент шоу опубликован в официальном YouTube-канале.

Корден посетовал на то, что Трампа, вероятно, абсолютно не волнует жизнь ВИЧ-инфицированных американцев. Поводом для подобных рассуждений стала новость об отставке шести членов Президентского консультационного совет по ВИЧ и СПИД, которые покинули посты в знак протеста против политики президента по этому вопросу и «полного отсутствия стратегии борьбы».

Ведущий отметил, что в обществе до сих пор не принято говорить о существовании этой проблемы, и сам он впервые узнал об ужасах болезни из фильма «Филадельфия». Он предположил, что Трамп просто не видел фильм и поэтому не уделяет этому должного внимания.

Корден объяснил, что не нашел способа отправить копии киноленты в Белый дом, но не отчаялся и послал все купленные в интернет-магазинах диски во флоридский клуб Мар-а-Лаго, где президент играет в гольф.
