Традиционные телевизионные компании Великобритании, такие как BBC, ITV и Sky, в ближайшие время будут терять по 1 млрд евро выручки ежегодно из-за конкуренции с IT-компаниями. Об этом сообщает The Guardian со ссылкой на доклад британской консалтинговой компании OC&C Strategy Consultants.

Главную угрозу британскому телевидению представляют платформы YouTube, Facebook и Amazon. Телеиндустрия может прийти к тому, что появятся единые мощные агрегаторы, которые будут аккумулировать в себе сразу несколько видов контента и обеспечат диверсификацию источников информации, получаемой пользователями. Уже сейчас по такому принципу работают Facebook и YouTube – контент каналов широко представлен на этих платформах.

Расчеты OC&C Strategy Consultants основывается в том числе и на опыте в других сферах. Так, таксопарки с приходом сервисов вроде Uber стали зарабатывать в среднем на 20% меньше, традиционные страховые компании потеряли 5-10% выручки, в музыкальной и новостной индустриях доходы упали на 20-30%.
