Американський журнал New Yorker опублікував обкладинку нового номера, який вийде на наступному тижні, з назвою "Справжній надзвичайний стан"

На обкладинці зображений президент США Дональд Трамп, який стоїть на даху майже затонулого Білого дому, не знайшовши укриття від наближення шторму. В руках він тримає червоний плакат з написом "добудуйте стіну".

 

 

Йдеться про будівництво стіни на кордоні з Мексикою для вирішення міграційної кризи. На її будівництві наполягає американський лідер. Для виділення бюджету прикордонної стіни Трамп раніше анонсував введення в країні режиму надзвичайного стану.

Обкладинка покликана показати, що даний надзвичайний стан полягає в наслідках зміни клімату, розповів її автор Баррі Блітт.

"Схоже, що наш президент вкладає свою енергію в підроблену надзвичайну ситуацію, заперечуючи існування потенційно катастрофічного кризи, такої як зміна клімату", – заявив Блітт.

New Yorker зазначає, що в жовтні міжурядова група експертів ООН зі зміни клімату попередила, що у світу є десять років на те, щоб стримати глобальне потепління.
