У Нью-Йорку над рікою Гудзон офіційно відкрився острів-парк Літл-Айленд.  Він перебуває на 132 бетонних колонах, вкопаних в річкове дно.

Спроєктував парк відомий британський дизайнер Томас Хізервік, пише Dezeen.

Площа парку становить близько 10 тисяч квадратних метрів. Тут є три сцени для театральних вистав. Від червня до вересня 2021 року в Літл-Айленді вже заплановано 500 заходів.  Проєкт вартістю 260 мільйонів доларів профінансували бізнесмен Баррі Діллер і його дружина Діана фон Фюрстенберг.

Будівництво парку почалося в 2016 році, але через рік застопорилося: окружний суд США анулював дозвіл після того, як некомерційна організація "Міський клуб Нью-Йорка" виступила проти будівництва. У 2019 проєкт вдалося запустити. Бізнесмен вже подав заявку на отримання ліцензії на продаж спиртних напоїв.

На додаткові заходи безпеки в Літл-Айленді витратили 6 мільйонів доларів. Кошти були направлені на систему огорож і охорону, яка чергуватиме цілодобово.
