Їхні дописи вихваляють Трампа та його кандидата у віцепрезиденти Дж. Д. Венса та намагаються дискредитувати членів Демократичної партії. Вони дописують на теми, що викликають розбіжності в політиці США, коментуючи такі теми, як права ЛГБТК+ та надсилання допомоги Україні. У деяких випадках вони поширюють неправду та теорії змови, зокрема навколо COVID-19. Деякі з цих публікацій збирають десятки, а то й сотні тисяч переглядів.

Більшість з цих облікових записів з’явилися в останні місяці. Вони локалізуються в США. Принаймні 15 з них мають синю галочку.

Застосувавши інструменти зворотного пошуку зображень, CNN і CIR ідентифікували 17 справжніх жінок, чиї фото вкрали і використали на фейкових акаунтах. Деякі з них розповіли, що їхні фото не вперше вже використовують фейкові акаунти. Проте боротьба з цим, за їхніми словами, зазвичай невдала — платформи заявляють, що не мають достатньо доказів, щоб підтвердити неправдивість тих профілів.

Соцмережа X не надала відповіді на запит CNN щодо цих облікових записів, але, як пише видання, за останню добу перед публікацією матеріалу видалила більшість цих облікових записів.
