Одне з найбільших українських інформаційних агентств — УНІАН — веде свій офіційний Telegram-канал виключно російською мовою. Це викликає дедалі більше запитань серед українських користувачів, особливо в умовах війни, яку Росія веде проти України.

Цікаво, що офіційний сайт УНІАН доступний як українською, так і російською мовами, а заклик підписатися на Telegram-канал дублюється обома мовами. Втім, сам Telegram-канал існує лише в російськомовній версії.

Станом на травень 2025 року кількість підписників каналу перевищує 700 тисяч осіб, що робить його одним з найбільш популярних новинних каналів в українському сегменті Telegram. Усі новини публікуються російською мовою, без дубляжу чи окремої версії українською.

Користувачі соцмереж активно критикують мовну політику агентства, зазначаючи, що така практика не відповідає очікуванням українського суспільства та може суперечити закону "Про забезпечення функціонування української мови як державної".

"Сайт — двомовний, а канал читають сотні тисяч українців. То чому ж усі новини там російською?" — обурюються користувачі.

Дискусія в соцмережах триває, і громадськість закликає агентство переглянути свою мовну політику в Telegram.
