The Washington Post: Местные выборы в Украине прошли с привкусом глубокого разочарования. Согласно экзит-поллам, к концу воскресного дня явка на выборы составила около 36%. Что, по мнению издания, свидетельствует о наличие в обществе устойчивого недоверия к власти.

«Разочарование – главная тема дня. Никто не голосует», – прокомментировал ситуацию эксперт Фонда Карнеги Балаш Ярабик.

Многие украинцы не скрывают своего недовольства новым правительством, которое за два года правления так и не сумело взять ситуацию в украинской экономике под контроль, обеспечить эффективные реформы и положить конец коррупции. Вопреки расхожему мнению, военный конфликт на востоке страны беспокоит обывателей гораздо меньше, чем поднявшиеся в цене продукты питания и обесценивание национальной валюты.

«Какой толк от свободы, если ты не можешь себе позволить купить хлеба?» – сетует на жизнь рядовая пенсионерка Надежда Соколова. Отдав голос за Оппозиционный блок, она надеется, что президент Порошенко правильно прочтет «послание» своего народа.

Неудовлетворенность правительством также высока и среди бывших участников Евромайдана. По словам Егора Соболева, гражданского активиста и действующего главы антикоррупционного комитета в украинском парламенте, Порошенко и Яценюк поддерживают ту коррупционную систему, что осталась после Януковича.

«Для страны, коррупция несет в себе гораздо большую угрозу, нежели Путин», – заявил он.

Газета The New York Times сообщает, что выборы в двух стратегически важных городах Донецкой области – Мариуполе и Красноармейске были отложены из-за попытки фальсификации на них. В субботу вечером, за 12 часов до начала голосования, местный избирком обнаружил существенные недостатки на уже отпечатанных бюллетенях, из-за чего было принято решение их уничтожить.

Мотивируя тем, что согласно последним опросам победу в Мариуполе должна была получить партия союзников бывшего правительства Януковича, критики власти обвиняют Петра Порошенко в умышленном срыве избирательного процесса там. А учитывая, что контроль в обоих городах был удержан украинской властью с помощью армии и добровольческих подразделений, для их жителей это могла бы стать первая возможность высказаться на голосовании.

Ранее, активисты проукраинских партий обвиняли типографию олигарха Рината Ахметова, сторонника беглого президента Януковича, что избирательных бюллетеней было отпечатано гораздо больше требуемого количества. Предполагалось, что они могут быть использованы для фальсификаций. Сам Ахметов никак не ответил на эти обвинения.

Ангела Меркель хотела бы наладить экономическое сотрудничество Германии с Украиной и Россией, говорится в сообщении Reuters. Об этом немецкий канцлер сообщила в пятницу на германо-украинской экономической конференции в Берлине. С ее слов, договор Украина-ЕС о зоне свободной торговли не ставит перед собой цель навредить России, и как-бы она не пыталась его затормозить, реализация этого соглашения начнется полным ход уже в следующем году.

«Это торговое соглашение не направлено против России. Наоборот, мы хотим, чтобы Украина имела хорошие экономические отношения с Европейским Союзом, с Германией, равно как и с Россией».

Ангела Меркель также пообещала помочь Украине обрести экономическую стабильность и процветание. Вместе с премьером Арсением Яценюком они в пятницу подписали соглашение о создании германско-украинской торговой палаты.
