В США заявили, что не будут сотрудничать с Россией по Сирии, если она не прекратит бомбардировки позиций прозападной сирийской оппозиции. По мнению западных СМИ, такая жесткая позиция должна заставить Россию заниматься тем, о чем изначально заявлялось российской стороной, а именно — воевать с исламскими террористами ИГИЛ. Этот вопрос, равно как и нарушения воздушного пространства Турции и конфликт на востоке Украины, будут сегодня обсуждаться на собрании министров обороны в штаб-квартире НАТО в Брюсселе.

Отмена сепаратистами своих псевдовыборов, в сочетании с отводом войск с линии разграничения, может служить знаком готовности России к конструктивному диалогу, считают западные журналисты. В иностранной прессе также оценили «вежливый» отказ Александра Лукашенко от заманчивого предложения Владимира Путина построить в Белоруссии российскую военную базу. В условиях когда политическое влияние и экономическая мощь России уверенно идет на спад, белорусский лидер делает ставку на Запад. Делает это пока не явно, но уже прослеживаются четкие намеренья Лукашенко сохранить тенденцию в потеплении отношений с Европой.

И хотя с началом военной кампании России в Сирии, внимание западных журналистов переместилось на тот театр военных действий, украинский конфликт остается в поле зрения прессы. Пророссийские сепаратисты, следуя примеру украинской стороны, также начали вывод танков и другой бронетехники с линии разграничения. Только пока в ОБСЕ не могут сказать куда именно, но у них есть в планах провести полную инвентаризацию вооружения «ополченцев».

Западная пресса осветила вчерашний гражданский протест в Минске против строительства российской авиабазы. В руководстве Белоруссии не скрывают своей незаинтересованности предложением российской стороны, но отказать, скорей всего, не рискнут. Как и Украина, Белоруссия плотно сидит на «газовой игле», и по мнению многих видных аналитиков, Путин получит то, что желает. Также в иностранных СМИ продолжается обсуждение российских бомбардировок в Сирии, журналисты все больше склоняются к тому, что Россия в Сирии воюет против сирийской оппозиции, а не против «заявленных» террористов.

Главная тема дня в западных СМИ — обсуждение вступления России в гражданскую войну в Сирии. Большинство иностранных экспертов-аналитиков уверены, что ловкий тактический ход Путина, которым он отвел внимание от конфликта в Украине, обернется для России трагедией. Ведь это сделает Россию не менее привлекательной целью для террористов, как и США. С одним существенным отличием — в Америку попасть террористам крайне сложно, чего не скажешь о России.

Западные СМИ сообщают о начале экономической блокады полуострова Крым крымско-татарской этнической группой. Прогнозов последствий такого поворота событий, пока не делается, но отмечается крайне высокая зависимость Крыма от поставок из материковой Украины, заменить которые сейчас просто нечем. До дня визита Путина в США на Генеральную ассамблею ООН остаются считанные дни, а Барак Обама никак не может определится с тем: следует ему встречаться с Путиным или нет.
